I have helped over 3000 women and men just like you to be less in pain and more mobile, since 2015--first, as a Licensed Massage Therapist and, now, as a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner. Along with strong intuition and compassion gained in past practice, I also offer advanced medical knowledge from years of prior pharmaceutical R&D and client counseling, helping me to work with other healthcare providers and to base therapy on science and clinical evidence. No one can guarantee pain-free living; but I will customize an effective plan for your priorities and goals in pain relief, coordinating with other wellness professionals (as authorized), addressing your health history, physical condition, lifestyle and stress exposure.
My journey into bodywork stemmed from an early interest in science which led to a B.S. in Life Sciences at MIT and then on to a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, a field newly spawned by the discovery of the DNA double helix. For a few decades I worked to translate advances in basic biological research into practical medicine, as cancer researcher, university professor, pharmaceutical developer and eventually, intellectual property (patent) counsel to pharmaceutical and biotech companies. On retiring from corporate law, I chose to pursue MT, both to continue the personal satisfaction of giving client-centered service and education, now by sharing benefits of touch first felt in trading back rubs with my father, as well as to maintain my own physical fitness.
